Hobart Airport (tel (03) 6216 1600) is on the A3 highway about 17km east of the city centre. The Airporter bus service (tel 0419 382240) runs regularly between the airport and central Hobart and they can drop you off at your hostel. The 15-minute trip costs $12.80.

バス

Bus travel is the main form of public transport in Tasmania, and Hobart is well connected to other destinations within the state. Redline (tel 0419 382240) buses stop at the Transit Centre at 199 Collins Street and the Tassielink (tel 1300 300 520) coach terminal is at 64 Brisbane Street.

ヒッチハイク

Tasmania is Australia’s best state for hitching and Hobart is a great city to hitch from.
The Midland Highway (route 1) is the main road through the middle of Tasmania and the quickest route to Devonport and Launceston. The Murchison Highway (route A10) runs from Hobart to Burnie on the north coast via Queenstown. Either of these roads is a good bet if you’re heading to the north coast, although the Midland Highway will be a much quicker run. The best hitching spot to catch traffic bound for both these roads is the patch of road just north of Claremont in Hobart’s northern suburbs. Use a sign as the spot has traffic bound for both highways. Local buses run from the centre of Hobart to Claremont.
The Tasman Highway (route A3) runs from Hobart up the east coast. If you’re heading in this direction, take a bus to Cambridge (near the airport) and try your luck from there.
